my weekend...

you may be wondering "what did Katie do to pass the time this weekend?".. In case you are I will share..

1) participated as a spectator at the University of Calgary's convocation ceremony. My role as spectator included:
-being bored to tears listening to endless speeches. Speeches should equal short and sweet, why oh why is this concept yet to be grasped? These high and mighty men obviously DID NOT get the memo.
-silently judging each person's choice of shoes as they passed in front of me. I think this time would have been much more pleasurable if one of my fellow judgers were with me. I tried to whisper to my Mom a few times, but she was busy being "proud".. Congrats Ces on your second degree. 2 years older and 2 degree ahead.. Where did my parents go wrong with me I often wonder?

2) had a celebratory bbq with the Corbett clan.. Always an enjoyable event.

3) went to see "the break up". For a chick flick it was great. They didn't bother having some complicated plot line with the oh-so-predictable ending. A movie in which we can all relate, and you laugh and think to yourself "oh yes, I've been there".. a somewhat disturbing yet enjoyable trip down memory lane. Vince Vaughn is f-u-n-n-y.

4) started a new book - "Prodigal Summer" by Barbara Kingsolver - my Dad said he found it to be "quite good" - coming from the harshest critic I snatched it up, must be a gooder. So far: affirmative.

5) did some quality exercising, guitar practice and sleeping in.

6) spent hours upon hours on the phone, although this is nothing out of the ordinary for half of a long distance relationshipper..

All in all, yet another mildly entertaining weekend passed..

Countdowns in the works:
4 sleeps until my lover is here.
17 sleeps until I visit Vic for the Canadia long weekend.
18 sleeps until I get my hair done by my trusty groovin' hair stylist.
25 sleeps until my lesbian lover benson arrives for some good old stampede debauchery.
67 days until I finish work and am back living in Vic.

Life is good.
