Isn't it strange that they always seem to catch these people before they get the bombs on the planes......I dunno, there hasn't been a bombing for a while and the "fear" level has decreased. About time to recharge the fear! Valuable lessons can be learned by movies such as V for Vendetta. If these people really wanted to blow up planes.....believe me, more planes would be blowing up!

I fully believe the the conservative movement worldwide has used fear writ large to advance their own quasi-nutty agenda, but you can't seriously think they are actually in the business of manufacturing terror plots.

In Britain, the current labour government does not generally benefit politically from this kind of fear. As a traditionally left-of-centre party, Labour has slid in the polls fairly substantially in the past few years, and most analysts agree that in order to remain government, they need to start focusing more on their domestic and social agenda. (That and find someone to replace Blair.)
Since this most recent band of nutjobs was found in the UK... I don't think we can blame the UK government. And they are a far, far way from "Vendetta" territory. (Which, by the way, featured a govenment that derived it's power from a manufactured ACTUAL terror event, not a foiled one!)

Answer me this then. They say that the bombings were meant to maximise the amount of human casualties. WHY..WHY use airplanes? I mean if it is human casualties they are looking for, why dont we see more semi trucks, or even Vans loaded up with fertilizer parked in front of highrise office buildings on a packed city street?? Why go through all this trouble of sneaking explosives on planes???? You need like 8 people with one peice of the bomb each. It all just doesnt make sense to me thats all. If someone can logically answer this without a load of political jargon. PS, John Reid ( Home Secretary)thinks that the UK might have to modify its freedoms in the short term in order to prevent their "misuse and abuse" by terrorists" "If we would willingly give up our liberty for to feel a little secure, then we deserve neither our freedom nor our security" That is all......I am just presenting information. Form your own opinions on it. Maybe we should all just walk around naked and be XRayed where ever we go because everything is dangerous!
Watch the news, chickenshit. Each plane would have ONE terrorist, with two containers of explosive, and a detonator. Not eight dudes for each plane.
If they had succesfully carried out the eleven bombings, they would have killed roughly 3,500 people. And there's not many trains/buildings they could attack and be guaranteed that kind of casualty rate.
Plus, firect casualties are not their only goal. As stated by leaders numerous times, they aim to "kill infidels and disrupt our way of life." Attacking an airline system that is a vital part of our economic system is a much more high profile, guaranteed way to affect the way we live our lives.
Anyways, the fact that you stopped talking about your opinion that this is a planned public manipulation by our government overlords indicates that you got my point yesterday. Yay me.
