in a place far, far away.

Do you know those places and moments in your memory that you think of and remember exactly how it felt to be there? It is such a vivid experience in your mind you remember even the most minute details of that day?

Well, this happens to be one of those places for me. It has been around 6 years since I last visited this place and it suddenly came in to my thoughts tonight. I remember ridiculously small details of life that day, almost as if I was just there yesterday. If I try, I almost feel like I am back there.
Does anyone else do that? Or am I just the odd one out with this ability which I can only desribe as awesomeness?

funky funky

Tonight I stumbled upon photoshop on my computer. I never have fiddled with it before so I gave it a go. I did this:I played around a bit more but got bored so I stopped. I figured this photo was worth a blog post. My creative-ness is unbelievable.

i would if i could

If I could be on a game show it's pretty safe to say 'Wheel of Fortune" would be my first choice. After all, it has stood the test of time (Gregg, 2008). All you do is spin a wheel, guess letters and try to solve an easy puzzle. Most players win at least some cash and have a good chance of winning a car or some awesome trip. Sign me up. Plus I'm a good speller, if I do say so myself, (cue Kip Dynamite voice) so I'd say, ya I'd definitely say that I'm pretty good, ya pretty good with words. If I was an American I might look into this further but since I'm fairly certain sure a landed immigrant living in Canada wouldn't stand a chance. Gosh darnit.

here comes the sun

It might not be shining over the city of Vancouver today but I know it's only a matter of time before summer is here.. and I can't wait :)

hmm

I don't know about you I'm pretty sure this might be the worst plot line for a movie yet. I WILL NOT be seeing it.

something new

On our travels today Brian and I decided to get a coffee for the road. My caffeine enthusiast boss recommended a place on 4th ave to me, she is convinced that it is better than the highly acclaimed Cafe Artigiano which has venues scattered around Vancouver. Four brothers started Cafe Arigiano and over time it gained popularity and they decided to sell it. One of the brothers wanted to start a new place in hopes that it would be more intimate and unique since their old business had become too big for what they wanted.

Point being, if you live in Kits or happen to be traveling through, the 49th Parallel is certainly worth a stop. We left the store with: my usual soy vanilla latte, a regular latte for Bri, one of their signature cups - the blue and brown motif is pretty much an automatic sell for me, and finally a pound of their "epic espresso" which was very reasonably priced. Needless to say, the won us over. I don't venture out to cafes very often as I have a great espresso maker at home and cannot justify spending $4 per coffee since usually places don't do the soy coffees to my liking, but if I do 49th Parallel is where you'll find me.

new adventures to be had

I have seen people doing this along the shores of Kitsilano Beach in English Bay and every time I think how fun it looks. A little google researching told me it's called 'paddleboarding'. I am going to try it this summer and see what I'm missing out on. I'm curious as to whether it is really hard on the back or not; it could be awesome on the core muscles which is just what I need or it could also wreak havoc on that darn slipped disc of mine. A short distance first time will provide some answers. I would like a partner though. Those big freighters might be intimidating out there all alone.

t.v times

It's that time again ladies. I think it is safe to assume that most of us are looking forward to that hour of pure entertainment when ANTM cycle 10 begins tomorrow night. I know I am. Luckily, our flight gets home at 5:00 so I will have plenty of time to make my nest on the couch consisting of my favourite pillow, my heat pad (to nurse my sick back), my festive christmas lights, my fire place, perhaps some popcorn, comfy pants and whatever else I choose to add to make the experience as ultimate as possible. Ah yes, TV brings me happiness. Will there be another Heather? I hope not.. Let's keep modeling to what it's really about shall we Tyra? Although I'm sure she'll conjure up some important lesson to preach to us young woman. What a role model she is for females everywhere. Or is it that she's slightly nuts? Search some clips from her talk show on youtube and you're sure to get your answer.
